Messaging & Communication

Effective communication is key to successful errand completion. YiAiki provides an in-app messaging system that allows Clients and Runners to communicate directly, discuss errand details, ask questions, and resolve issues. All communication happens within the platform for security and dispute resolution purposes.
How Messaging Works
- Chats are automatically created when a runner places a bid on your errand (for clients) or when you bid on an errand (for runners).
- Each chat is linked to a specific errand and bid, providing context for your conversation.
- You can have multiple chats with different runners for different errands.
- All messages are sent and received in real-time through the YiAiki platform.
Accessing Your Messages
- Click on the chat/message icon in the navigation bar to access your conversations.
- You'll see a list of all your active chats with other clients or runners.
- Each chat shows the contact's name, profile picture, last message preview, and unread message count.
- Click on any chat to open the conversation thread.
Sending Messages
- Open a chat conversation by clicking on it from your chat list.
- Type your message in the message input box at the bottom.
- Press Enter or click the send button to send your message.
- Messages are delivered instantly to the other party.
- You'll see a "read" indicator when the other person has seen your message.
Chat Contexts
- Each chat can have multiple "contexts" - different errands you've discussed with the same person.
- The current active context shows which errand you're currently discussing.
- You can switch between contexts to view messages related to different errands.
- This helps keep conversations organized, especially if you work with the same runner multiple times.
When Chats Are Created
- Automatically created when a runner places a bid on your errand (for clients).
- Automatically created when you bid on an errand (for runners).
- Chats remain active throughout the errand lifecycle (from bidding through completion).
- You can continue messaging even after an errand is completed (for follow-ups or future errands).
Communication Best Practices
- Be clear and specific about your requirements and expectations.
- Respond promptly to messages to maintain good communication.
- Ask questions if anything is unclear before starting work.
- Keep all communication within YiAiki (not external platforms) for dispute resolution purposes.
- Be professional and respectful in all interactions.
- Use messages to clarify errand details, discuss changes, or coordinate logistics.
Why Communication Matters
- Clear communication reduces misunderstandings and improves errand outcomes.
- All messages are recorded and can be used as evidence in dispute resolution.
- Good communication builds trust and leads to better working relationships.
- Prompt responses help errands move forward smoothly and efficiently.
- Communication history helps both parties understand the context of agreements and changes.
Important Notes
- All communication must happen through YiAiki's in-app messaging to be considered in disputes.
- Messages to completed errands become read-only (archived) - you cannot send new messages.
- You can view message history for completed errands, but cannot continue the conversation.
- Unread message counts help you stay on top of important conversations.
- If you experience messaging issues, try refreshing the page or contact support.
